Once being the most well-known hydraulic paper mill in Europe, in 2014 Cartiera del Maglio, was excluded from the Della Lana e Della Setta – a heritage trail celebrating the production industry in the Emilia-Romagna region.
Becoming the newest stop of the trekking route, the Maglio Museum will not only preserve and exhibit the paper samples and machine artefacts, but also celebrate the legacy of hydraulic systems as part of the building fabric as a didactic and cooling strategy. A tactile museum journey, wrapping around the existing concrete structure will be created through controlled water flows, steam and water- powered manufacturing techniques and amplified water sounds.
